Vintage Brushed Gold Tone CUFFLINKS Scroll Shell Design Patent No. 2920363Smoke Free Environment
Color: Brushed Gold
Measurements: 7/8” x 5/8”
For the cufflink collector, this rarely seen design is a wonderful find! Brushed gold tone, the smooth edges and borders, frame the scroll and shell design. Though the designer of these cufflinks is unknown and hard to distinguish, they are each marked inside the shell near the post. Embossed on the inside of each end is the patent number 2920363, awarded to Harvey Avedon in 1960 for the design of the pivoted toggle mechanism. A regal pair of cufflinks for the classy gentleman!
Great vintage condition. Stored for many years. They have not been cleaned and you will see some tarnish on the toggles (one more than the other). The outside shell, edges, and borders still look very clean. A tiny dent on the end of one toggle (photo 6). Both toggle mechanisms in great working order. As mentioned in my description, the designer mark on the inside of each shell is very hard to read and distinguish, but I have provided a photo (7). Please see all photos.
